From 1920-1923, Delitala, who wanted to broaden his artistic horizons, stayed in Venice.
The great Venetian paintings by Giorgione, Tiziano and Veronese astounded him; it was painting based totally on colour and would influence his future work.
Despite being so far away, Delitala continued to find his subjects in Sardinia, memories of his trip through the towns of Barbagia and Baronia, with the painter Carmelo Floris, still vivid.
In 1930 to travelled to Africa, driven by the desire to visit unspoiled places, a desire shared by many artists of that period.
