Home E GREEN LITTLE TRAIN>FROM MANDAS TO ARBATAX

>THE  LINE
called the most beautiful line of the world  (Zeppegno-Fratesi), the line crosses the southern side of the Gennargentu, the most intact and richest of forests and wild fauna.
The line crosses many mountain little towns, in which there are stone-houses, forests and tortuous valleys;  it passes over countries that are wonderful to the sight  for the colors of the woods and the vineyards, and to the smell for the scents of the lavender.
The line offers cues for mountain excursions, trekking, spelaeology and naturalism.
A suggestion: it is better not to cover the whole way in a day because the distance is really long (160 km)

It is inhabited from a rich fauna that includes also wild boars, mouflons, griffins, Sardinian deer, who stay in the medium zones and in the thick woods.

  • Forests of Bettili and Montarbu
From the little mountain stop of Bettili it can be reached the below lake of Flumendosa through a path.
Between Seui and Gairo, from the stop of Saint Gerolamo they can be organized excursions in the forest of Montarbu that is driven in sources and wild fauna.
