WINES
Here are some of the wines you can drink with your Sardinian meal.
One of the typical wines produced in the Campidano area is Nuragus, a white wine made from autochtonous grapes which have the same name, that recalls Sardinia’s ancient history. It is very good with seafood dishes.
Girò and Monica are red wines, appreciated in the Cagliari area and in other parts of Sardinia (Marmilla, the Oristano area, etc.).

There are also some sweet wines which deserve to be mentioned, such as Malvasia, Moscato and Nasco from Cagliari, expression of Sardinia’s traditional wine-making.
In many villages in the Campidano area people hang a palm branch on the front door, to show that the building is a winery (is magasinus de su binu). If you love homemade wine it’s an invitation which you can’t decline.
