The Centro Velico Caprera (CVC) is a school that teaches about sea and sailing.
It was founded in 1967 by the Lega Navale Italiana (Italian Sailing Association) and the Touring Club with the patronage of the Italian Navy.
The aim of this centre is to educate people about the sea. This is done through sailing
training inspired by the traditions of the Italian Navy.
The CVC is a non- profit non governmental association.
The CVC is a member of ISSA (International Association of the Sailing Centres) and
is of the F.I.V. (Italian Sailing Federation).
Every year about 2.800 trainees attend CVC. It is the biggest Italian Sailing Centre.
So far, over 50.000 trainees have attended CVC courses.
