ISOLA ROSSA BEACH

How to Get There
Take the road from Castelsardo to Santa Teresa di Gallura; after 26.7 km, turn left for the Isola Rossa. Dopo 4.3 km you arrive at the town; the beach is in front of it.

Description
This distinctive island of reddish porphyric granite rock gave the village its name; the majestic Aragonese tower, the lovely “Longa” Beach, the charming tourist harbour and the relaxing seafront promenade, with the amazing colours characterizing this particular stretch of coast, are the pride of the town and make it especially beautiful at sunset, with the additional attraction of the fragrance of the helichrysum and myrtle dotting the coast.

This village is still relatively unknown and you can spend a simple, relaxing holiday there, getting to know the local residents.

Further east, one kilometre before the Isola Rossa, a right-hand turn takes you directly to “La Marinedda”, which can be reached by walking along the natural paths near the rocks.

Broad, airy and framed by tiny inlets among sharp rocks, it’s a place where you can still experience the thrill of swimming on a deserted beach.

It’s a worthwhile stop for those who want to sample an excellent fish soup or just-captured lobsters; these are the attractions of a holiday among the friendly fishermen of the area.

Facilities
Diving and surfing lessons, inflatable boats and canoes for hire, trawling, tennis and volleyball courts.
