Roads leading to the sea are almost all paved and well-marked: you will have no trouble reaching your favourite beach – you just have to take your pick!
SS 131, SS 597 and SS 199 are quiet roads where traffic flows without difficulty. In summer, avoid taking them during the hottest part of the day.
Warning: in summer and above all during the Ferragosto holiday and the preceding weekend, roads can be very crowded.
A helpful hint: early morning is the best time to travel.
