NORA BEACH
Position
3 km south of Pula.
How to get there
Take the S.S.195 from Cagliari, turn at the crossroads towards Nora (km 27) and go on, following the signs through the village of Pula. The parking is at the end of the road, in front of the entrance of the archaeological site. You will come to the beach after about Km.3. The archaeological area and the Lighthouse stand before the coastline.
Description
It is one of the most characteristic beaches in this part of the coast, combining the beauty of the sea and the charm of archaeology. You can observe the headland where the Phoenician-Punic small town of Nora is set under a narrow tongue of thin and golden sand. The stretch of water is divided by a stone foot-bridge: on the right there is a rocky depth, full of sea urchins, while on the left the depth is deep and sandy. The water is a strong blue shading off into lighter nuances in bank areas. Nora is the favourite destination for underwater diving.
Facilities
The kiosk, in front of the small church of Sant’Efisio, sells cool drinks, sandwiches, ice creams and first courses. There are many hotels and restaurants in the area.
