THE POSTWAR PERIOD        
                                                                                                     

A considerable revival took place during the postwar years.
But Sardinian wine continued to be a blending wine, used to enrich other European and national wines. Therefore, wines which were not very valuable, and there was little money for farmers.

The European Community then promoted incentives for vineyard explant, and the product system, only apparently solid, collapsed. This collapse signed the beginning of recovery.
From the 70s, the main effort has been to improve the quality of the most famous wines.

Sardinian wine is today an important reality.
The quantities produced are small: it’s quality, not quantity that really counts.
